A White Christmas

For the last two years, we have watched The Polar Express. We were at Oma and Opa's house for a little while this Christmas Eve and thought Ryan would fall asleep. Well, he fell asleep on the way home and I mean he really fell asleep. Polar Express was out...so we thought. Tim put Ryan in the bed and he shot straight up telling us he did not want to go to sleep yet. So, for year number three we watched The Polar Express in our "jammies" and declared it a tradition. Pajamas, a movie, and the excitement of a child anticipating Santa...perfect!

Before the movie was over, Ryan was peeking through the blinds watching for Santa. It was the sweetest thing! His excitement is so much fun every year.

  • 2007: He was only seven months so he wasn't sure what was going on except that paper was totally cool.
  • 2008: His second Christmas was our first year in our new house. I remember him in his cute, plaid jammies pitching a fit over something. He had his paci in his mouth and was dragging his blankie. When he saw the toys, he chunked his paci and went running. Hilarious!
  • 2009: Poor Ryan came down with croup and woke up at 2 a.m. We almost had to take pictures of Ryan checking out what Santa brought, but I somehow managed to hide his face. We sat on the couch watching TV for a while and he fell back asleep. When he woke up, again, he ran to the tree and played with everything.
  • 2010: I think Ryan was almost overwhelmed. Santa brought him a bunch of Storm Troopers just like he asked. He immediately started playing with them and making his shooting sound. Although the Star Wars toys were super cool, he gave the art desk a whirl too and painted, colored and cut.
Oma and Opa came over for breakfast and to see everything that Santa brought Ryan before we headed to Gadsden. It started snowing while we were preparing to leave, so by the time we got on the road it was beginning to stick to the grass. How exciting! When we pulled into Nana and Papa's house, Bryce and Aunt Hollye were out front playing. Bryce tried to hit us with a snowball :)

A White Christmas...a perfect Christmas.
